Canadian steel giant to receive $150M as U.S. tariff anxiety grows

Some relief is coming for the Canadian steel industry as the country’s second biggest steel maker will receive $150 million in federal and provincial funding in the form of grants and loans. The announcement comes as Ontario-based Algoma Steel emerges from three years of bankruptcy protection and is facing American tariffs that seem to have no end in sight.
