The Canadian duo Kaitlyn Lawes and John Morris were able to defeat Switzerland’s Jenny Perret and Martin Rio 10-3, in six ends, at Gangneung Curling Centre, on February 13, 2018, in Gangneung, South Korea.

They became the first gold medallists ever in the new Olympic event. Lawes and Morris also became the first Canadian curlers to win two Olympic gold medals.
