Indigenous families in remote communities face tough decision to continue education in Thunder Bay

Indigenous families are increasingly afraid for their children’s safety, as they head south to Thunder Bay for a high school education. Since 2000, nine Indigenous kids have died there, most while attending high school far from home. Rosemary Barton travelled to the remote community of Deer Lake First Nation, about a two hour flight from Thunder Bay, and spoke with families about their difficult choice.
