Liberal MP’s resignation triggers a cabinet shuffle

After 22 years representing a Nova Scotia riding in the House of Commons, Liberal MP Scott Brison says he won’t run for re-election this year. His departure leaves a vacancy in the cabinet, where he sits as president of the Treasury Board of Canada. The move means Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will be forced to shuffle his cabinet at the beginning of an election year.
