Sir John A. Macdonald statue removed from Victoria city hall

A statue of Sir John A. Macdonald, Canada’s first prime minister, has been removed from the steps of Victoria’s city hall. The city decided to remove the statue because of what it says is Macdonald’s role as “a leader of violence against Indigenous peoples.”
